John McCarthy, a 17-year veteran of the company, was recently named Broker of the Year by the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR) at its annual commercial real estate industry awards program. MNCAR chose McCarthy based on his outstanding contribution to the commercial real estate profession, a high level of professional conduct, his participation in MNCAR and other real estate related associations as well as his participation in civic and community activities.
Since joining the company, McCarthy has focused on office leasing and tenant representation, completing more than 1,600 leasing transactions involving more than 7 million sq. ft. of office space during that time.

Mike Ohmes, McCarthy has consistently ranked among the highest producers in the company’s brokerage division. “John is a tremendous asset to our team. Not only does he know the commercial real estate business inside and out,” says Ohmes. “He’s always been an active contributor to the industry, volunteering his time and talents to benefit many organizations outside the company.”
McCarthy is a recent past president of the MNCAR and serves on the Boards of Directors for the Minnesota Commercial Property Exchange. He is also an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Real Financial Center in Edina. In 2009, McCarthy was recognized as Big Brother of the Year from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities. He resides in Eden Prairie with his wife Kathy and three sons.
